My main responsibility as project manager is to develop and maintain different kinds of web services for both the business and public sector like universities, non-profit companies and schools. Web, intra, extra and other commercial web solutions and their art of management are like daily routines for me.
Essential parts of my professionalism are to assure high quality of all activities that are related to development on the Web. As you know before launching the final version, there are several phases to be completed. Defining vision in workshops, informing the team, keeping track of every detail, collaborating with partners and so forth. Not forgetting to help customers with web analytical settings and training for using of the services.
Proud of what I have achieved
For instance, I´m proud of being a project leader in web project www.taik.fi,where we collaborated together with creative visualists and the professional communication team in 2007. The result is superb – a huge site for The University of Art and Desing Helsinki, where students can present and publish their talent for the public. I love innovations that comes out of collaboration with each other.
Another example of my expertise is, a EU-project called e-IRGSP. With the team we have helped the client to achieve their goals and objectives in the scientific field. In e-IRGSP they are cutting edge web 2.0 based group functions for effective collaboration with professionals all over the Europe. This truly has productive impact on communications, because our solutions decrease info-overload.
My philosophy - simplicity and user-centrism
All my efforts are based on user-centrism and my broad understanding of web technology trends. My aim is to solve customers challenges on the Web. My philosophy rely on simplicity and productivity. In my opinion technology should be used for to make life much easier and more effective, whether they web sites, collaborative intra solutions or commercial services like newsletters.
In a talented, interpersonal skilled and self directed person, I have made initiatives in many areas in current my position.
Naturally, I´m familiar with administrating different sites and keeping them up to date. In addition, I´m capable to utilize Adobes product like Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, which is not a surprise. I have been working on the Web since 1996.
I am also familiar with content and communication
One of my passions is communication. I started out as journalist and PR-communicator before entering completely in the ITC field. I have written various news articles for larger reportages in media in Finland over 14 years.
After graduation I was invited to work for a challenging task. In UNICEF Finland my task was to create the communication concept and material for legacy fundraising from scratch.
This was a nice job, because I was specialized in complicated analysis of communication at the University of Helsinki. My rhetorical and sociological studies have been a success story. You can read my thesis on web. Unfortunately, it is written only in Finnish.
