Improving myself – a lifelong journey

Couple of weeks ago I was taking part in a job interview. A nice HR-guy politely gained an eye contact and ask a question – Do you improve yourself? I was totally surprised. Of cource I do, I replied.

After recovering the surprise I tried to figure out, what is behind that question. These improving things are my favourites, close to my heart, because I do believe in continuous learning.

One explanation for a strange question of HR-guy might lie a notion that too many people are lazy workers. They don´t take care of themselves by reading books and improving their skills. I guess that this is a common way.

I argue that is a lifelong journey to challenge oneself by asking and looking for answer those questions.

Maybe I have inherited this attitude from my parents, who are devoted readers also in their 60s. They read so many books that I have finished to buy books as a gift.
