Testing Mindquarry as a collaboration app – part 2.

As I promised in part 1 I´ll start reviewing/testing the former version of Mindquarry (later MQ). I think it will take some sort of time to evaluate the whole program. It means distinguishing the whole review to different section (parts).

I did´t ask was it an easy task to install Mindquarry (they did´t tell me the details). I suddenly got an email – please check our wiki. The colleague of mine wrote a note where he was showing how to get start with MQ (version 1.1.2). Here there are – installation paths, admin account, address to download the MQ Desktop client for my Mac OS X.

Login and dashboard
mq login Testing Mindquarry as a collaboration app part 2.

There is nothing special about logging. The view looks quite normal. It is nice feature to active/inactive the Ajax. The link is placed in footer. After logging in first impression of mine is – MQ is cool and freshy.

WordPress has a special welcome page named Desktop. MQ trusts similar solution. There you can get ideas what for it was launched.

“Mindquarry Collaboration Server is a web-based collaboration platform that supports your teamwork by combining file sharing, Wiki for knowledge management and collaborative task management. ”

“With Mindquarry teams you can analyse and manage your teams and team members.”

“Mindquarry file sharing stores all your documents and keeps a history of changes.”

“The Wiki is your personal idea-store, blackboard and glossary for sharing information and creativity.”

“With the task management block you can see your todo list and assign tasks to your team members. “

mq dashboard Testing Mindquarry as a collaboration app part 2.
As I mentioned in part 1, these are important tasks (above). Because of my experiences with wiki-based collaboration these is absolutely room for web-based collaboration platform where you can focus on the work with your colleagues, partners and customers with happiness. This joy of working together should be nice and “sexy” (cool looking) experience.
