As a Web Communications Specialist I maintain and re-develop two Web Services for Finnish Expat community in Brussels. I am a member of the board in this active association.
My main responsibility is to ensure that electronic content is maintained, kept current and accurate as well improving the functionality and the communicational efficiency of the complexed web services.
This day-to-day and re-development projects have been taking my voluntary efforts several hours every week.
Implementing new approaches
The Suomi-Klubi´s Web Services consist of two sites. They offer tools and resources for its members and give useful guides for people, who are interesting in moving to Belgium.
With my leadership on both sites have been under the renovation:
- redesigned and clarifying the visual appearance and the identity (html/CSS)
- easened features and functionalities for getting information in the most effective and user-friendly manners (RSS
- optimized the main content for search engines (SEO)
- integrated a possibility to new members by using the social media (Facebook / Twitter).
The main idea of redesigning and redeveloping www.suomi-klubi.com is to keep it simple and secured for years to come.
Both main site and its discussion board are running on award-winning content management system (CMS) Joomla 1.5.x-series.
